Telogen Phase

Telogen Phase

In the telogen phase (or resting phase), the follicles cease all metabolic activity. During this period, the hair roots are undersupplied and therefore fall out. The telogen phase lasts around three months and around 8-12 percent of all hair is in this phase at any given time. If the percentage in the resting phase is higher, visible hair loss occurs, which can extend from bald patches to baldness.
