Medical needling is a medical facial treatment, not a cosmetic one. Therefore, it may only be performed by a registered physician.

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment and may therefore be performed by beauticians.

Penetration depth and frequency

The reason for the purely medical treatment is the needle depth and higher number of needle stitches in Medical Needling. The needle used in Medical Needling is at least 0.5 mm long: the length of the needle is adjusted so that it runs deeper in thicker skin layers and is therefore more effective. In addition, the frequency of the needle sticks is much higher with Microneedling.

Penetration depth and frequency

While the needle length for Medical Needling is at least 0.5 mm, the maximum length for Cosmetic Microneedling is 0.5 mm. The frequency of the punctures is also lower with Microneedling. These two factors contribute to the fact that only superficial blemishes can be treated with Microneedling.

Impact

Due to the longer needles and thus deeper punctures along with the higher frequency of the stitches, deeper-lying problems such as scars are treated. Regeneration is stimulated and collagen and elastin are produced.

Impact

Smaller, superficial blemishes can be reduced with Microneedling. It is suitable for people who already have fairly even skin and few skin problems. Medical needling is recommended for scars, pigmentation marks, wrinkles and a sallow complexion.

Doctor

Transplanters

Usually,the hair transplant is performed by two specialised transplanters who work under the supervision of the attending doctor.
