A skin analysis is a skin diagnosis that identifies the real state of your skin and its true age. Because we all have unique skin, a skin analysis allow a professional skin assessment to clearly identify the various skin concerns you suffer from (fine lines, acne, redness, sebum, dark circles, lack of hydration, dilated pores, etc.) and then to establish a personalised treatment programme with you.
Different skin types
We all face different problems depending on our skin type. Overall, we can identify 8 different skin types:
Oily skin
Oily skin is characterised by an overproduction of sebum, which can leave the skin looking shiny and oily. Pores are often dilated and can be prone to clogging, which can lead to acne and blackheads.
Dry skin
Dry skin lacks lipids and moisture, which can make it look dull, rough and sometimes flaky. It can be prone to itching and irritation, especially in extreme temperatures or when exposed to harsh products.
Combination skin
Combination skin has both oily areas, usually on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), and dry or normal areas on the rest of the face. It can be tricky to find products that balance sebum production while moisturising dry areas sufficiently.
Dehydrated skin
Dehydrated skin lacks water, even though it can produce enough sebum. It can feel tight, uncomfortable and show fine lines, even though it is not necessarily dry.
Sensitive skin
Sensitive skin reacts easily to external or internal irritants, which can cause redness, itching, burning or stinging. It can be prone to allergic reactions and requires gentle, non-irritating products.
Normal skin
Normal skin is balanced, neither too oily nor too dry, with barely visible pores and an even complexion. It is generally supple, smooth and free of major problems.
Skin with imperfections
Skin with imperfections is prone to acne, blackheads, pimples and acne scars. It can be oily, combination or even normal, but has problems with irregularities and skin congestion.
Mature skin
Mature skin shows signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines, loss of firmness and elasticity. It may also show irregular pigmentation and uneven texture.
Skin analysis provides a precise diagnosis of your skin at any given moment. Your skin can change due to genetic causes, natural skin ageing (loss of collagen and elastin) and external factors such as air pollution or a poor lifestyle. This is why we encourage you to realize several skin analysis whenever you feel you skin is changing.
Skin analysis at HAIR & SKIN
At HAIR & SKIN, we offer you a free skin analysis consultation in one of our 14 clinics in Switzerland. We use advanced VISIA® technology to offer a comprehensive, global skin analysis. It examines different aspects of the skin:
Pigmentation: VISIA® can detect various skin pigmentations, including sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, pigment spots, red spots, enlarged pores, dark spots, red spots, freckles and redness.
Regularity of the skin surface: regularity is measured first and foremost to determine the uniformity and variability of the skin surface. Impurities such as blackheads, acne and pustules are analysed.
Wrinkles and fine lines: VISIA® provides results on the number, depth and size of wrinkles, which may be linked to a reduction in skin elasticity, among other things.
Porphyrins: porphyrins are bacterial excretions that settle in the pores and can cause acne.
UV spots: these appear as a result of sun damage, when melanin coagulates beneath the surface of the skin, and are not visible under normal lighting conditions.
Redness and vascular lesions: these are detected beneath the surface of the skin, such as acne, inflammation, rosacea and rosacea.
Skin hydration: some versions of the VISIA® system can also analyse skin hydration levels, which can be useful in choosing appropriate facial care and skin treatments.
What happens during a skin analysis at HAIR & SKIN?
During the consultation, we invite you to position your face in the centre of the VISIA® machine, as if you were taking a selfie! Thanks to a multi-point positioning system, image superimposition, a rotating module and ai technology, this skin analysis tool can assess the condition of your skin. We can therefore offer you 3D visualisations of your dermis, as well as a simulation of your skin's ageing process. You can come to the consultation wearing make-up, although for optimum results we recommend that you leave your skin looking natural for the duration of the analysis. It is also better to avoid wearing sunscreen.
Once the analysis has been carried out, our expert doctors can recommend personalised treatment options and skin care advice to slow down the ageing process, improve the health of your skin and your skin tone regarding your personal data. This treatment plan includes both aesthetic medicine treatment recommendations (Medical Needling, Wrinkle Treatment, Hylauronic Acid Filler, Skinbooster...) as well as a tailored skincare routine with product recommendations. We work with products from the Skinceuticals brand, the benchmark cosmetics for effectively treating all skin problems and a better skin health.
Why realize a skin analysis?
An in-depth analysis allows us to determine the type of skin (oily, dry, combination, etc.) as well as its specific problems (acne, dehydration, sensitivity, etc.) and then to choose products and targeted treatments adapted to its needs to ensure a personalised skincare routine recommendations.
By identifying early signs of skin problems such as acne, wrinkles or pigmentation spots, skin analysis can also help to take preventive measures to prevent these problems from worsening.
Finally, a professional skin analysis can also be used to monitor the skin's progress and the skin needs over time and adapt your beauty routine if necessary.
