7 Glow-Up Tips for More Radiance

7 Glow-Up Tips for More Radiance

From TikTok to Instagram: Social media is full of countless posts from users sharing inspiring transformations and glow-up tips.

A glow-up is basically a makeover. However, it's not just the external component that plays a role here, but also general well-being.

Because let's be honest: radiant skin, lots of energy, and a self-confidence that nothing can shake easily – isn't that what we all want?

Even seemingly small changes can give us a new attitude to life and make us feel that anything is possible.

Are you ready to start your own glow-up and feel like your best self? In our HAIR & SKIN tutorial, we will share tips with you on how to glow up that will make you glow from the outside as well as the inside. Let’s begin your glow-up journey!

1. Create a gentle foundation for your skincare routine

PH-neutral cleansing and care products provide a good base for all skin types and needs. In addition to a gentle but effective cleanser and toner, this also includes a good moisturizer:

A high-quality, moisturizing cream with hyaluronic acid generally provides a good starting point here for all skin types.

Sun protection with SPF is also an undisputed part of any skincare routine. After all, UV radiation is responsible for up to 80 percent of visible skin aging.

Therefore, it is recommended to use a high-quality sunscreen every day to prevent premature skin aging. Even on cloudy days and in winter.

2. Gradually introduce new products

We all know that work comes before play. Only after you have created the basis for your skincare routine with pH-neutral cleansing and care can you supplement it with skincare products that are specifically tailored to your skin's needs.

Knowing your skin type is therefore a crucial part of any glow-up. The more and more detailed information you have at your disposal, the better: Is your skin oily, dry or do you have combination skin? What is the actual age of your skin? What special needs does it have?

Knowing the answers to these questions will help you determine whether you’ll want to incorporate more hydration, antioxidants, a weekly exfoliation self-care routine, gua sha massages with oil, more face masks at the end of the day, or a light daytime lotion to attain a natural glow.

When treating skin problems such as acne, blemishes, or pigmentation spots, creams or serums with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid can provide relief and restore evenness to your skin tone. It’s important to know the products that are trending, but it’s even more important to know what your unique needs are.

Why patience pays off

When it comes to a glow-up, we tend to be particularly impatient and want to see quick results. However, it's better not to introduce too many products at once.

Firstly, you won't give your skin time to get used to a new product. Secondly, you won't be able to reliably assess which product truly had a positive, negative, or neutral effect on your skin and won't be able to adapt your routine accordingly.

It is therefore best to introduce one product at a time after your basic skincare routine and invest in quality rather than quantity.

If it's a high-quality skincare product that suits your skin's needs, you should still see positive changes in a timely manner.

More products can also mean more scents. If your skin is sensitive, you’ll want to reduce products with synthetic perfume and just stick to one with your signature scent.

Medical skin treatments such as medical needling, on the other hand, can be a solution for stubborn skin problems such as acne scars, pigmentation spots or very dry skin – giving your skin an extra boost. These treatments can help you improve the appearance of your skin quickly and with a long-lasting effect.

3. Wash your hair less often

That's right, less is more when it comes to hair care. Washing too often can dry out the scalp, which can lead to dandruff and itching. However, a healthy scalp is the basis for healthy hair.

By washing your hair less often, you help your scalp maintain its natural balance – not to mention that it saves you a lot of time.

But don't worry, this doesn't mean you have to walk around with greasy hair from now on, quite the opposite. Instead, gradually reduce the frequency with which you wash your hair and you'll soon be struggling with oily hair less often. A weekly hair mask can also help retain the moisture and cut out the grease. Choosing the right conditioner makes a big difference, too.

If you normally wash every day, try washing every other day at first and then every three days. It takes a while for your hair and scalp to get used to the new routine. So be patient and persevere, even if your hair seems greasier at first.

For the transition period, dry shampoo is your best friend: use it to absorb excess oil and grease on the days between washes while maintaining volume and freshness.

This way you can gradually get your hair used to being washed less often, making it healthier and less prone to damage.

When it comes to hair, you can also opt for a new hairstyle that highlights your personal style for a confidence boost and glowing up your overall appearance.

4. Treat yourself to head & scalp massages

Regular scalp massages promote blood circulation and can therefore stimulate hair growth. Fortunately, you can easily do this at home.

Integrating a scalp massage into your daily routine before washing your hair is ideal. You can use a nourishing oil and special massage tools for that extra kick of relaxation.

Does your hair leave a lot to be desired in terms of fullness despite gentle shampooing and head massages? An autologous blood treatment can help to boost your hair growth naturally.

This uses the healing properties of your own blood to revitalize your hair follicles and promote hair growth. Thanks to fuller hair, you can freely choose your hairstyle again and style your hair just the way you like it.

5. Feel better in your own body

Body language is known to have a major influence on how the world perceives us – and how we perceive ourselves in it. It's also no secret that exercising is an excellent way to improve your body image.

But it doesn't always have to be a HIIT workout or a marathon training plan. Ten minutes invested in your personal body awareness in the morning can be implemented nearly every day to help you experience more self-love, self-esteem, and a positive mindset.

What that looks like exactly is entirely up to you. A few push-ups, planks, or sit-ups, for example, are ideal for strengthening the muscles in your core, shoulders and arms. Regular exercise and physical activity are great for your overall physical health, feelings of self-improvement, not to mention your physical appearance – including your skin! Simple lifestyle changes can bring out your natural beauty and really enhance your glow-up journey.

Integrating regular exercise will prevent tension on the one hand while also promoting an upright, confident posture on the other. Good posture is key to feeling like the best version of yourself and promoting positive emotional well-being.

If you tend to feel stiff and inflexible, a few stretching exercises for your legs, hips and shoulders can make a real difference. Try some yoga, pilates, and other wellness sports and activities to help release tension.

Give it a try - and find out what impact 10 minutes in the morning can have on your posture and well-being after just a few days.

6. Have a balanced diet filled with nutrients and minerals

As we all know, beauty comes from within and a balanced diet plays a vital role in this. After all, it is a decisive factor for your energy levels and well-being.

Did you know that a lack of certain nutrients can lead to skin and hair problems as well as lower energy levels?

A healthy and balanced diet, rich in vitamins and nutrients from fresh fruit and vegetables, not only promotes a radiant complexion and full hair, but also helps you to go through life full of positive energy. It also improves your mental health and overall well-being. Other hacks are ensuring that you are getting enough sleep (and changing your pillowcase regularly), integrating detox protocols into your daily routine, and even using positive affirmations go be your best self!

Visiting your general practitioner for your regular annual check-up contributes to your health and well-being in a myriad of ways.

7. Schedule a professional skin and hair analysis

In life, as with your glow-up, knowledge is power. The more information you have at your disposal - about your skin, your hair and your nutrient supply - the easier it is to make real changes to your well-being and body image.
